Congratulations! You passed the Kindergarten course.  Now we go to the more advanced introduction.  But first, I have to answer these questions for you whether you asked them or not.

It's The Cold-eyed Truth

Is making a computer music studio easy?

No.  It is an active and engaging endeavor that takes time to learn, even for experienced musicians. You have to learn about 1. Music Theory (at least to know the basics)  2. Computers and technological devices  3. MIDI and Audio production and processing  4. You have to develop your musical talent.  You are probably here with some skills in each category.  If you have no skills and no desire to gain them, this is not a good choice of hobby.

Is it expensive to do it right?

It can be, if you want to have the best and latest gear.  You can go very broke buying this stuff--avoid that. It is better to work on your skills than to always buy new gear.

Is it time consuming?

Oh you bet.  It will take your whole weekend easily, keep you up at night,  make you late for work, will take away time from important things, marriage, family, significant others...

Is it worth it?

Only certain people hear the muse.  If that is YOU, then you know you can't resist.  It will draw you to the flame like a moth and fill you with promise of the music you can hear in your imagination.  If that's you, you probably have something to communicate in music, and the electronic music studio is the natural way to bring that into our shared reality.  We welcome you.
